WordTube Video Wordpress Theme
WordTube Video Wordpress Theme Installation:
- Firstly, download the theme file from this page. If you downloaded it from another source, delete it and download it from here.
- Upload the wordtube folder into the /wp-content/themes/ directory.
- Upload the folders in plugins folder into the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
- Active the WordTube theme and the 4 plugins from your Wordpress Admin panel.
WordTube Options:
- Enter the WordTube Theme Options panel under Appereance in your Wordpress Admin Panel
- Fill in the parts and Save Changes.
- Enter Reading under Settings, write 16 in Blog pages show at most part. Save changes.
Adsense Options:
- There is an /adsense folder in theme folder. Open it. You will see 4 php files.
- You can open these php files in notepad or notepad++.
- Delete the lines in these php files and add your Adsense codes. Then save the php files.
- adsense468-15.php is the top menu ad. Delete the line it and add your 468*15 menu ad code. Use #0033cc for links while you are creating your adsense code.
- adsense468-60.php is the 468*60 ad on homepage and under video in single pages. Use #0033cc for links while you are creating your adsense code.
- adsense300-250-main.php is the 300*250 ad on homepage's sidebar. Use #ffffe5 for background, #f5e082 for borders, #0033cc for links while you are creating your adsense code.
- adsense300-250-page.php is the 300*250 ad on single page's sidebar. Use #eeeeee for background, #cccccc for borders, #0033cc for links while you are creating your adsense code.
Plugins Options:
- After activating the plugins, enter Sociable under Settings. Choose 30 of the social websites. All the settings should be inactive in Position part. Save changes.
- Enter Ratings Options under Ratings on left menu, Show Loading Image With Text must be No. Save changes.
- Ratings Templates should be like these:
Ratings Vote Text: %RATINGS_IMAGES_VOTE%
Ratings Voted Text: %RATINGS_IMAGES%
Ratings No Permission Text: %RATINGS_IMAGES%
Ratings None: %RATINGS_IMAGES_VOTE%
- Save Changes.
WordTube Theme Usage:
While you are adding a video:
- Write the title of the video,
- At the bottom, you will see a Custom Fields part. Write thumb in Name part and write the thumbnail url of the video in Value part. For example: http://i2.ytimg.com/vi/qnNOzngbfNg/default.jpg. Click the Add Custom Field button.
- Write embed in Name Part and paste the embed code in Value part. Click the Add Custom Field button.
- Write description in Name Part and write the description of the video in Value part. Click the Add Custom Field button.
- Submit your tags on right menu, choose the category and Publish your post.
If you have problems, please leave a reply and visit the page in a day.
Licence:
You can not remove the links in footer.

Thanks @dave. You are right, Wordpress adds backslashes. I did the modifications. Now you are adding the Adsense codes directly. Please download the theme package again and replace it with your old theme files. Then read the Adsense Options information from this page. You do not need to replace the plugins.
I see that you are using the small embed format. You can use 640*505 embed format. I think it will be better. For this, click the customize button on right of the embed code on youtube.com and choose 640*505.

I think you are using widgets so you can not see the main page’s sidebar ad. If i were you, i will remove the widgets from the widgets panel on admin panel.
If you want to add calendar, open the sidebar_right.php and add this code: < ?php get_calendar(); ?> (there should not be a space between < and ?). you can check the calendar code from here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_calendar

download this zip file. extract it. there is a header.php file in it. replace your wordtube theme header.php file with this header.php and also upload the logo folder into the theme directory. test it. you will see that there will be basic logo on your blog. now, open the logo folder and replace your logo with the logo.png. your logo format should be in png format.

firstly update your wordpress. if you already did it, download the latest wordpress zip file. find the default theme in wp-content/themes and replace your default theme with this default theme. also, replace the wp-includes/comment-template.php file with the latest comment-template.php file. if it would not be a solution, find the comments.php in default theme and upload it into the wordtube theme directory.

Love the theme, just what I am looking for. But, I don’t want the extraneous links at the bottom of the page, i.e., linking to ilovelebanon… that just does not fit with the theme of my site. Can I pay you for the right to remove the links?

i tried to delete theme wordtube and re upload it but now error

Installing the theme.
Destination folder already exists. /home/content/50/5467450/html/wp-content/themes/wordtube-video-theme/
Theme Install Failed.
That means there is already a /wordtube-video-theme directory. Use a FTP program and delete that category. Upload the theme again.
Hmmm, I cannot get the main page to just put ‘Featured’ videos in the ‘Featured Videos’ section, it puts all the videos in there. In the admin panel, I chose “Featured” as the category to promote, but it ignores that and puts them all in there… I’m not seeing something that is probably obvious!
You should write the category ID not the name of the category. Enter your wordpress admin panel. Click the categories on left. Use your mouse and check the url of the Featured category. At the end of the url, you will see something like ID=5. This is the category ID. In the WordTube panel, write this number(only the number) and save changes.
Thank you, I have been scratching my head on that and it was right there. I have one other issue I am working on and this will be perfect. I cannot get adsense to appear on the right column on main page, though it seems to appear on other pages.

Thanks. There is not a function like this in theme. If you want to, you can use “wordpress youtube video bots”. But i do not recommend them.
my logo is not showing there is no image i done what you wrote

Everything works except the thumbnail images. I troubleshooted by following all the inputs given above. But the best I could get is the grayish image of a “camcorder” in the thumbnail frame.
Any remedy?
I fixed the problem myself, but facing a new one. When I click on the thumbnail, two copies of the same video display one on top of the other. Solution?
Do not add the embed code into the content part, just add it by the Custom Field. As you can see, there is not any problems in other posts of your blog.
It worked. Have another problem though! How to display thumbnails from more than one categories in featured videos section?
Edit: Forget the admin panel. Open the index.php file.
Find the code < ? echo $wt_featured; ?> (there are 2 same codes, no spaces between < and ?). Replace the first code with your category IDs. Then the code will be like this: cat=5,32&showposts=8 (5 and 32 are category IDs).

When Adding Pages how can I change the title for each page? It keeps coming up “Featured Videos”. I can change the title in the first page{IE: About Us) in the page template, But then the next page comes up with the same title.

You are right, sorry. Please download the theme again. Extract it and replace the old page.php with new page.php. Or open the page.php, find “Featured Videos” and change it to < ?php the_title(); ?> ( there should not be a space between < and ? )
The star ratings images plus text below the thumbnails in “featured videos” & “latest videos” sections look cut off and mutilated. How to correct that and make the spaces between thumbnail rows look clean like on your demo page?

first problem: this is because of the Ratings plugin options. please check them or delete the plugin and upload it again.
second problem: your titles are very long. open the style.css and find the code .videopart {. there is height code there like height:170px;. make it 180 or 190 and save it.

I have a couple questions regarding this theme. First of all, can you only add youtube videos? Second of all, can you play flv files? I mean, can I use my own custom player, like the jw player instead of the youtube player? Or does this theme only work for youtube videos? Any help is appreciated.
1- You can add every embed code, not only youtube videos.
2- If you use a flv player, yes you can play your flv files. If you use a plugin, do not use the custom field part for embed. Add the file in normal content part.

hi, i have set it up but featured videos and latest videos are just the same
are they gonna be same all the time. featured videos are in row as i add new videos. they are not random or queued by their ratings or views 
In the WordTube Theme Options page under Appearance, there is a “Featured Videos:” part. Write the category ID of your featured category, and save it. For the category ID, enter Categories, check the url of your category. At the end of the url, you will see something like cat=7. This is category ID. Write this number in Category ID part in WordTube Theme Options and save it.
In single pages, Random Videos are random videos:) Just add more videos and refresh one of your single page.

Every theme uses different custom fields. Do not choose video_code while your are adding the Custom Field. You should see Enter New link under the Name field. Click it and write embed in Name Field. Paste the embed code in Value field. Click the Add Custom Field button.

How to build a french version for instance?
I think there are some special characters in French. So,
- Download notepad++ from http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/download.php
- Open a theme file(for example index.php). Cut the codes, select the Format in top menu, choose Encode in UTF-8 without BOM. Paste the codes.
- Replace the English words with French words. For example find Featured Videos and replace it.
- Save the file.
- Do the same for all php files.
If you can do it for us, please send me the French theme file. Then i can add it in the post.
Woderful theme, tried in one of my WP blog and works fine, but I also have some Blogger blogs can you get same type of theme for Blogger please? If this theme gets on blogger I am sure nothing will be better than this for video bloggers!

- Find .sitename. There is width:500px; there. Make it 300px.
- Find .searchpart. There is width:406px; there. Make it 606px.
- Find .search. There is width:406px; there. Make it 606px.

Blog Setup was fine, but do not understand this part “Appearance” in the “Featured Videos” (Category ID) – What should I put in this field? Give me an example.

For example, if you want to show the latest videos from Sports category of your blog in Featured Videos part on homepage, enter Categories in wordpress admin panel. Check the url of the Sports category(put your mouse on the category name and check the url). At the end of the url, you will see the category ID of the Sports category(it is a number). Enter this ID in Featured Videos field and save the WordTube theme options.
Also, your title’s are long. So, open the style.css file in theme folder. Find .videopart {. There is height:170px;. Make it 180px and save the file.
And, read the “Ratings Templates should be like these” part in theme installation information.

By adding 180, we changed the height of the video parts on homepage. Check this image: http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/5360/sssym.jpg . As you can see, we can not see some letters of rating. Yesterday, i could not see the rating images. It’s better now. If you do not want to change the Rating Plugin Theme Options, make it 190px. I think it will be best.

I think the problem is because of these settings. I see that in your blog’s source, show_loading: “1″. But in demo it is 0.

a) if you do not want to add ads, open the adsense folder in theme directory. there are 4 php files there. open them with notepad++ or notepad and delete all the codes in them. and save the files. (you can not remove only the Ads By Google link. because it’s a part of the adsense ad code.)
b) yes you can add other ad codes. as same, open the adsense folder, open the 4 php files and add your ad codes. name of the php files will help you to choose the ad formats. for example, adsense468-15.php means, ad format is 468px width and 15px height(this is the top menu ad).

I’m about to finish the smaller customisations I’m doing in order to suite my needs ( & I hope shortly I’ll showcase it here
) But while I was trying to test a normal blog post (without any videos, but with an image inside the post), the text which was suppose to be rapped around the image (right & down the image) as I have selected my image to float towards the left of the post, is being pushed down the image 
So, is that the theme styling? or do you think something else? If it is the default theme styling where in you have designed, not to rap anything around the image in a post, then how can I edit the stylesheet (or whatever is needed) in order to get the normality? Because for videos its absolutely fine, but what if we have any of the posts containing small images with some text or say description or summary to be wrapped around that image, so that we can utilise the full width of the page?

Nope, Its not working
I have followed the steps mentioned in that page, but still I’m not able to get the text wrapped around the image. The whole text is being dropped below the image again! I guess there is something that’s stopping the text being wrapped around the image in your theme? Can you plz test it & see what’s really wrong?

You would like to do it like that i think. If yes, open style.css and add these codes at the bottom(also while adding the image in post, you should choose left, right or center from the “Alignment” in “Add an Image Panel”):

Also, do not write anything in the “Caption” field on image panel. If you write something, image will have a separate line.

I have a question about embedding videos into Facebook. I can share a video on Facebook. It shows a thumbnail image on the left and an explanation on the right of this image. When I click on the image, a new tab appears and go to the video which the share link belonged to. It is not the case for Youtube videos. When I share them, they open in the Facebook page. I don’t know if it is related with the theme or not, but I will be happy if you help me.

I will try to explain my problem. We can embed videos from different sources and shows in Wordpress blog by WordTube. Therefore, we do not have to store videos on our servers. Since there is no video file on the server, Facebook could not take it as it is, I think.
Now, I would like to ask if we could upload our videos files to ftp and make the WordTube show it in the same way.

Do not add the “Custom Field” with the name “embed”. Instead of it, install that plugin and use the content part of the post.

categories seems to go on the second line and overlay that header line. I am not good on css, can you tell me what I have to edit to move the menu a little to the left so I can have more space and the categoryes in the same line?

you need to add the images from the Custom Field.
- Write thumb in Name part and write the thumbnail image url of the video in Value part. URL should start with http and with jpg, gif or png. Click the Add Custom Field button.

Thanks for the answer. I figured it out now!
I have now a new problem. How can I have comment formular for the top pages( Dedicatii, Radio manele etc see the site http://www.manelevideo.ro ) the comment formular is not prezent there what do I have to change ?
- open the page.php
- find < ?php endwhile; endif; ?>
- paste < ?php comments_template(); ?> before that code(delete the blank space between < and ?php)
