Witness Wordpress Theme
Witness Wordpress Theme Installation
Witness Theme has a custom navigation function. Do not use wp-pagenavi plugin. Before activating the theme, deactive wp-pagenavi plugin.
- Download the zipped file and extract it,
- Upload the witness folder into wp-content/themes/,
- Upload the featured-content-gallery folder in plugin folder into wp-content/plugins,
- Activate the theme and activate the plugin from your wordpress admin panel.
Theme Options
- Enter Appearance/Witness Options,
- Fill in the fields and save changes.
- If you do not want to use the featured gallery plugin, disable it from this page.
Plugin Options
- Enter Settings/Fetured Content Gallery,
- Write the Category Name that you want it to be featured,
- Write the number of Items to display,
- In Gallery Style, Gallery width 578, Gallery height 240 and Text Overlay height 80,
- Gallery border color #dddddd, Galery background color #000000, Galler text color #ffffff,
- Number of words in text overlay can be 40,
- Save the changes.
Ads and Banner Options
- For the 150*150 Banners on right sidebar, open banners.php in banners folder in theme folder,
- Change the urls and banner images urls,
- You can delete some of the 150*150 banners or add new banners.
Licence
Do not remove the links in footer.

I have the featured gallery activated but it’s only displaying a loading bar w/black background. I use Firefox to view. I disabled all plug in then added by the featured gallery and it still didn’t work. I’ve reviewed the FG forum and tried a few of their solutions but to no avail. Any suggestions? I really like this theme – is there a way to make the featured gallery function work? Please let me know what to try…and, thanks in advance for your help.

is it possible to have google ads sense to your theme
you need to add the adsense codes into theme files.
after i have setup featured gallery, the website takes too long to load compared to w/o feature gallery and then.. the featured gallery is not displayed at all its same as w/o the geatured gallery
how do i change the youtube, facebook, to point to mine
check the theme control panel.
the featured gallery worked after i watched the video of featured gallery creators and followed his steps, but a surpise, the new posts, which are pic + text, only the text is getting displayed w/o the pic… have to find out whats the problem
you need to add at least 2-3 posts in featured category.
yup after i add 2 or3 posts the fatured galleryis working,
but the headher photo is gone, after that
also after that, all the post pictures alsogone, only text is displayed (though the featured gallery still able to show the pics)
in short after i added featured gallery blog looks like

posts no pics only texts

How must be the new code, if i want to add a banner in this location:
it is very simple:
- “href=” includes the url that you will go to when you click. change http//:www.wordpressthemesbook.com with your banner urls.
- “src=” includes the banner image url. delete “< ?php bloginfo('stylesheet_directory'); ?>/banners/150-150.png” and write your banner image url. use http:// at the beginning.
- “alt=” is the descriptiop of image. u can write something about your banner.
for example: < a href="http://www.google.com">< img src="http://www.google.com/intl/en_ALL/images/srpr/logo1w.png" alt="Google" />< /a>
do not use spaces between a and href, < and img, < and /a.

yes you can change it.
- if you change the header.jpg in “images” folder, header picture will be changed.
there is not a code for that picture in header.php. if you want to change it’s name or use png, gif: add your picture in images folder and open style.css. find header.jpg and change the name.
Hi, as said earlier, last time when i installed, i was able to directly get the Featured gallery displayed at the location, same the theme as yours, below the header,
this time, ( may be i downloaded frm different location),the featured gallery is NOT displayed, instead it says

hi admin i have installed plugin for featured gallery, i have activated it, i have give the same category name in featured gallery setting, i also have given articleimg and its url in the post, but still the featured gallery not working, pls give a look at my websiste and see what possible could have gone wrong, trying since 3 days and could not resolve it
try these:
- in featured gallery settings, write RealEstateVizag in featured category name field.
- add images(articleimg) into all posts in RealEstateVizag category.
if it does not work, use the Contact page(http://www.wordpressthemesbook.com/contact/) and email me your admin password. i will check the plugin options.

I have the same issue with sye.I follow exactly the setting above ur post and I also have the gallery name “Featured” and i got 3 posts under it. I been used the “articleimg” and full image url in Value into the post but it doesn’t shown anything…My WordPress version 3.0.1. Please advice… thks

thanks. you can use the wordpress default gallery or use a plugin. search for “wordpress photo album plugin”. there are some nice plugins.

Good morning, I can’t get the social netowrking buttons to work. When I click on them they don’t go anywhere and the address in the brower bar has all of the addresses in it i.e. http://www.vlong.com http://www.facebook.com/vincentlongocustombuilders http://www.twitter.com/vince_longo and so on.

you need to use http:// at the beginning of the urls(in theme option panel). for example, your linkedin profile link is working, because you wrote the url with http://.

Hi,
I think you upload the whole folder. Please upload witnes folder in witness-theme to wp-content/themes and featured-content-gallery folder in plugin to wp-content/plugins.
I have tried putting photos on one of the pages but they are all on one side i.e. align is left but they tend to leave a big space on the left.I would like the photos to be well aligned the space on the left and write to be balanced
required codes are in css file. there should not be a problem about aligning. i tested photos before submitting the theme.
please tell me the url of the page that you added photos.

do not upload everything in zipped file. upload only the folder that contains php files. for example, when you upload the folder, it should be like this: wp-content/themes/witness/archive.php
